It's easy enough finding out about booking a stand but they are so expensive does anybody have any experience? And are they successful for sellers?

I would like to know the very same!

Would also like help with finding where the events are?

Use to do the occasional wedding fair, years ago. Even then most charged £70+ for a stall. OK if your booking wedding cars, cakes...you'd only need 1 booking to get your money back, but if you were booking facials at £15-20 at time!!!
Recently, I 've been more into my crafts. The big organised craft fairs, more local to me seem very much aimed at small businesses rather than little "one woman" hobby like crafts, and yes would charge a fortune. Saying that some of the handknits were selling at well over £100 a time!!
My level is more like the local schools or playgroups, pay a small commission or set price for a table.

We get to sell at country fairs by joining the local 'Made in MY COUNTY' organisation, who block books so many pitches for their members. This year I had a double stand (24'sqr) for £150, would have been over £2K if I bought on my own.

Saying that it all depends on what your selling... my heart drops when I see another bead jeweller!

Its a lot of work but very rewarding. This year I noticed the biggest smiles and fatest wallets belonged to the basket man and the pudding lady!

I actually like bead jewellery...

Lemonice, we are about to attend our very first country fair - 25th Sept Gransden District & Agricultural show - so I will let you know how it goes. Never done anything like this before, so very nervous! The stand has cost us £20 (cheap by the looks of things) and we are having a PVC banner made which is costing £100. Other than that we are taken a bundle of brochures & some business cards, and making 200 traybakes & biscuits!!! I hope they sell.......

I'd be willing to bet that 200 won't be nearly enough, Misty.

I know anorak, so we will just have to take orders for anything over and above that!
