Hi there,
Just wanted to see if anyone is/was in the same situation as me...
i was in a stable job for almost two years, but felt like it was time to move on, looked for a new job and a good opportunity came along. I have accepted an upper, signed papers, handed it my notice. Went home and just thought to double check and see if i am pregnant.. we did want a baby and were trying, but not exactly by right dates etc, kind of it happens it meant to be. And the test was positive. We both over the moon, but the notice is already with my managers... new job excepted and one more moths to go with the notice period. By the time i will start new job i will be 8 weeks ... and really worried how my new employer will take it.. should i say anything straight away ...

Why?

Most people don’t tell their employer until after their 12 week scan anyway. There’s nothing to be gained any sooner than that for anyone. You don’t have to tell them until 15 weeks before you’re due, although obviously most people do.

Hi I was undergoing IVF when changing jobs without knowing if it would work or not. During 3 month notice period I learned I was positive. I started at new role when 8 Weeks pregnant but waited until after first scan to pick a moment to tell them. They were fine. It is life and should be attracting you to return post mat leave. Good luck!

I started my new job 12 weeks pregnant (it was the same organisation but totally different team) everyone was pleased and enjoyed the pregnancy news as much as anyone would. I'm back in July so the time flies by anyway. They said they'd have given me the job if I was 8m pregnant at the interview and actually they've promoted a colleague (well I've not worked with her yet but I'm going to be her line manager) while she was off on maternity. You're only off for a year so it shouldn't be an issue.
