Hello
I have been off work for 3 weeks.
My employer has asked to obtain a Medical Report.

I gave my consent, GP answered their questions.

They are not happy with the questions and asked for another report and this was done again. They are not happy with the answers again.

This time they are asking for the doctor to address specifically the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of the illness.

Are they allowed to ask the GP this information?

It would be unlikely for the consent form you signed to have restricted the questions you were permitting them to ask your doctor. It probably gave a broad consent for them to seek medical reports from your doctor, and those questions are therefore fine to ask.

Of course you could withdraw your consent or ask your GP not to provide that information. It’s unlikely to be helpful to you to do that though. I would expect your employer to be asking those questions in the context of the impact of your illness on work, and treatment and prognosis particularly may well be relevant.
