Working from home

I'm looking for ideas of how to earn some money from home, evenings, weekends. It turns out the Mother inlaw won't be babysitting two days a week 7:30-2:30 and for 2 hrs on a Wednesday, when I return to work in September, as previously arranged. The daycare fees are more then I earn a day would have to book full day of nursery. I honestly don't want someone else raising my child, so I'm looking to earn some money from home. I saw someone had said online surveys but it was an American link. I'm based in the UK. Any tips and ideas would be great. Thank you.

I know there is a referral company in the Uk but I don't know anything else much about it.
It's not the same thing but I work from home with Usborne children's books in my spare time. I didn't want to go back full time at my work so went back part time and slotted in Usborne.
I still pay childcare but not as much as I would have if I went back full time.
I hope you find something suitable.

What is Usbourne children's book? What kind of work do you do for them? I'm interested in anything. X

Online surveys probably won't pay you enough. Well the ones I've used anyway. I've probably earned about £300 since September. Prolific is a good one and you can also sign up to yougov. Yougov doesn't seem to give as many surveys and you have to build up a certain amount of points before you can claim £50. I've been doing that one since September and I'm only just over half way towards getting the £50.

If you can type, you could do transcription work from home. Again, it's not massive pay but if you put the time in, then you can earn a relatively good amount.

What is Usbourne children's book

It is a pyramid scheme multi level marketing / network marketing company. Basically, you're expected to sell children's books to your friends and family, or go to school fairs and so on. You're on a hiding to nothing as the books are cheaper from The Book People or in supermarkets.

Steer WELL clear.

Matched betting?

Another person saying stay well clear of usbourne and other MLM schemes. You'll end up losing money.

What about your partner. Can he change/reduce hours to accommodate childcare so you can stick to your original plan?

Btw sending your child to nursery doesn't mean someone else is raising them.....that's quite insulting to that do use paid childcare.

Lots of ideas over on the £10 a day threads on money matters. There's so many companies out there offering real work from home opportunities without having to sell overpriced tat.

Have to say, I do find your comment about 'someone else raising my child' quite offensive as someone who has to use full time, paid childcare.

If you're staying at home with your child how do you expect to also work from home? Childcare is pretty much full time on itself, I've never found i could work properly with dc there and employers expect you to have childcare when they're paying for your time.

Honestly, you need to find something you're skilled at so you can provide a service. That's the best way really...

There's so many people doing beauty parties and catalogue stuff that the market is just saturated and hard to make money from.

In regards to surveys etc, these pay peanuts and aren't guaranteed income so I wouldn't reply on these at all.

P.S don't listen to people who say you can't work from home with a child. If you're dedicated and can manage your time well, it is absolutely possible. It's not easy, but it is possible.
