How can I stop myself from going mad?

I have been a SAHM for a good while. After Christmas I made the decision to start looking for a job either p/t or f/t. It wasn't so much of a decision it was more of a meltdown after I realised my DC are at an age when they are getting independent and a moment when I realised I'd lost myself and was very bored and desperately needed a change and challenge.

So, I started looking in Jan. Four months later I haven't had any success but I am not necessarily disheartened and I do think I will find something eventually.

The thing is, I am a very impatient, high energy person and I think I am going mad waiting to find a job.

Anyone else feel this way and how can I stop myself from going insane from the rejections, slow pace and frustration?

Maybe start off volunteering? It's keep you busy, plus you might get offered a real job that way.

In the same boat as you OP. Current job is nearly at an end (fixed contract) and the rejection emails are coming in thick and fast. I would say volunteering or studying is your best bet, until you strike successful. What type of work are you seeking? Tweak your CV to try and match each job you apply for? Sign up to a temping agency? Do it volunteering site is very good for finding out what vol opportunities are available locally.

Best of luck.
