Perfect job for me in the paper this week, but I'm just not ready for it yet - feel so torn

It's exactly the kind of job I would want and would be perfectly qualified for.

But ds is still so small and has health problems and so I just don't feel that the time is right yet. But at the same time I'm worried that this is a chance that won't come again...

b*gger, don't know what to do. Or I do really, I just can't leave ds atm, all I can do is hope that something else will come up when the time is right...

It'll come up again - when that person moves on.

My perfect job came up a few years ago. I applied but was told they had filled the vacancy (hmmm .... my application was in on time and rejection came straight back). They wrote to me six months later and asked me to go in for a similar position. It wasn't convenient then but I've seen the job advertised again since.

Good luck.

If you applied and got an interview, you MAY find that it is NOT your perfect job, so you can stay at home happily

Also, you may be able to negotiate a deferred start? Most people have to give at least 1 months notice, some need 3. If you are perfect they may be flexible? Part-time??

I'm sure that when the time is right, the right job will be there as well.

Milliways, I don't really want to start working for another year or so...

was thinking about putting my name in anyway, in case they get somebody on a temp contract they can keep me on file? Good idea or not?

Couldn't hurt - if your straight with them.

Where I work they like to keep peoples CV's in case another vacancy arises SOmetimes we cannot offer the hours people want, but things change and we go back to them a year later.
