Should I take new flexible PT job (gold dust!) after 5 months or wait longer and lose this opportunity?

I've recently had my 2nd baby and was contracting before this so no job to go back to. I was planning on taking about 10 months off but have just been offered a role to start asap (baby is 5 months) so quite a lot earlier than planned, and it's also slightly outside of my comfort zone. However it's got so much going for it (part time, 2.5 days/week flexible (only 1 day on office, other hours to suit), great pay, great development for me and good for my cv), things that I'm going to struggle to find if I wait another 5/6 months! I'm completely torn as to what to do...I'm also worried my brain is not yet in gear and won't be able to do the job! What would you do in this situation?

Take the job. You’d be mad to give up that kind of flexibility, especially if the pay is good!
You’ll be able to do the job and it will get easier as your baby sleeps more.
Is it an immediate start? Could you put them off for another month?
But yes, I’d take it

Flexibility is like gold dust here so I’d grab it with both hands.

Do you have childcare for part time hours, what about feeding, are you breast feeding, do you have support to get you back in the frame of mind, even return8ng partime can be exhausting.

I say go for it, sounds to good to pass up.

I'm still breastfeeding but trying to get her to take a bottle...was planning on her going to the childminder with DS 1 day week so I could do a full day in the office and then try and get the rest of the hours in while DS is at nursery (2 days) or evenings etc. I'm not ready to put her in nursery yet but she's booked in from sept so fitting the hours in then will be easier. I was all up for it then had a terrible day with her today and wouldn't have been able to get any work done really and suddenly started panicking! You're helping persuade to go for it though!

It will work out, we have a way with finding new ways to juggle and cope.

I did similar years ago and now I’m in a higher role, full time with teens

Go for it!

Would they consider a day and half until September? One day while baby is with the minder, and half a day to make up in the evenings?
