Hi I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place.
I'm a bank nurse in a hospital and a nursing home. I always do over 30 hours a week but obviously I'm on a bank contract at both. We have just decided to start trying for a baby. Would I still be entitled to SMP or maternity allowance as I'm still employed. TIA

As long as you are employed continuously by the same employer and earn enough, you should be entitled to SMP yes.

@flowery I still do full time hours just on a bank contract. I've been there around 8 years but recently changed to bank in the last 6 months ish

As long as you're working for your employer at least 1 day before you get pregnant you are entitled to SMP (as long as you earn enough, which you should do based on the details you've given).

If you weren't entitled to SMP you'd get maternity allowence.

The .gov website explains what you're entitled to.

Brilliant thank you! I did have a look on the gov website but it's all a bit vague. As long as I'll get something I'm happy 😊
