Post interview wait - what to do?

I applied for a role about one month ago and things progressed quickly. I’ve had three interviews and completed an assessment. At the last interview I was told that I am one of the finalists but there are other candidates and they’ll decide shortly who is moving on to meet the Managing Director.

It’s been one week since I last heard anything and more than a week since the last interview. We had a bit of email correspondence afterwards.

How much longer is it appropriate to wait before I send another email to follow up? Or do I just leave it now.

So email Friday before close of business? Or email on Monday?

Ugh it just all was going very quickly and smoothly so now I'm sure I haven't gotten it...

I went to my email to send a follow up and there was already a message from the line manager saying he hasn’t forgotten me but they’ve been delayed and will decide shortly. So not over yet!
