Anyone run a child class franchise?

Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a franchise for child's classes. The classes can be run daytime for preschoolers or as an after school club or as workshops.
Does anyone else do this? How do you find it?

I would recommend that you thoroughly research and aim to speak to other people from around the country who have bought in. I was nterested last in one last year and felt quite "rushed" to make a decision by the franchise holders. Initially, although the investment was quite high, the returns looked good .....however after speaking to other investors, whom I contacted independently, the actual results didn't match up. As an ex teacher I decided to go alone with minimal outlay and I'm pleased to say it was very worthwhile, not difficult and more profitable than all those I spoke to.

Thanks for replying. I will do my research. I'm going to a discovery day in a few weeks. It's difficult to quiz current franchises without sounding cheeky!

I agree that it isn't easy but it's your money! What do you get for your money? Could you go alone?

The franchise offer looks great. I just don't know if I would enjoy it as I've never done it!

School budget are tight- most are stopping things like workshops. Many are taking all out of school activities in house- they don't have to meet ratios and so can potentially make money running their own after school.

I can't think what would appeal to pre-schoolers but also as school workshops.

I looked into this as there are a real shortage of baby classes where I live. Most drive 15-30 mins to the next towns to access classes. When I looked into it, to actually buy the franchise was a good 6 months FT wages plus continued outlay for the licence. It didn't seem worth it as you'd be working really hard to build your business minus £10-15k. I realised what I actually wanted was something flexible i could build into a sustainable business so I joined one of famous pyramid selling companies for £15. Much cheaper and easier. I wont post exactly where here but message me if you want to discuss it. Even the franchises that looked cheaper weren't as when I got the info a £500 investment was actually a £5k investment so absolutely do your research as with the level of money they want to start you really do have to make a success of it.

Yes, it's a real investment, so you do have to work hard. I do have a part time role I can continue while I'm doing it.
Kids classes is something parents will spend money on, I think though, especially in more affluent areas.
It's a tricky decision all round!
