My husband had to change jobs this year and on his starting date I would have been 16 weeks pregnant.
I understand we are not entitled to paternity or parental leave as he will not have been working with the company long enough.
My question is what can we do so he has some time off with the baby? His new company want a months notice for any annual leave booked. Do we just book two weeks off at the latest possible time the baby could arrive so we know the baby will be here and it's just tough luck if the baby arrives earlier. If that time is available that is as it will be during August so prime holiday time.
I was thinking we could write an email to his manager and ask if his annual leave dates could be flexible within a particular date range but I understand this probably won't be possible as they need to schedule his work.
Had anyone else been in this situation if so what did u do?
