Is there such a thing as Parental Discrimination in the UK?

Basically that? I feel I'm being treated unfairly and bullied by a team leader after asking to leave work 2 hours early as my son was poorly. She has been hostile towards me, picking at every little thing I do, will speak to me like crap when she speaks to me at all and I have been told by numerous people that she has been slagging me off saying she's sick of me wanting time off for my children. The last time I had time off for my children was 2 weeks before Xmas I had to pick one up from school as he was poorly. I'm fully informed on my rights as a parent and having reasonable time off for my dependants, and my manager has assured me that the time I have had off is not unreasonable. I have made a complaint and my manager is planning a mediated meeting with myself and this team leader.

So I was wondering if there is such a thing in the UK as parental discrimination? It feels that this is what it is to me but I'm struggling to source any relevant information. I plan on contacting my work union tomorrow and asking for advice but don't want to use the word discrimination if technically it's not?
