Career change for solicitor

I'm returning to work after a two year break, 8 years PQE but due to being a second career lawyer I'm in my early fifties.
I've decided I don't want to return to High Street practice, in fact I don't want to go back to the law necessarily. Has anyone left the law and had a different career?
All ideas welcome; I have wondered about Civil Service, Financial Compliance, becoming a Notary..................... any other ideas?

I'm a qualified barrister and took a 6 year career break from the law to raise my family. When my children were younger, I had a part time admin job to keep me sane! I joined the civil service 8 months ago and it's going really well. My role is a legal caseworker role so I am using my legal skills while having the flexibility to spend time with my family. Once in the civil service, there are opportunities to progress. I have recently applied for and been offered a more specialised litigation role. Whilst the salary is much lower than I earned as a barrister, I have really good work life balance with 2 days working from home each week and look forward to going to work every day.

Data protection compliance, if you can bear it, is an area with lots of opportunities right now and a background as a lawyer is obviously a good start. Compliance generally I should think and could be more flexible.

Company Secretary? Needs a mix of corporate law, finances, Hr, risk, insurance etc - I moved into at after a career in accountancy but most are ex lawyers
