Redundancy while long term sick. What are my rights?

My workplace is closing down. Estimated closure date mid July. Announced today (it's in the paper, I personally haven't been officially told yet, although others have)

I'm currently off sick with work related stress and have been for 3 months. No sign of being well enough to return yet.

While this is shit, in a way it's good that the decision has been made for me and hopefully I can just put it behind me and move on.

What I really want to know, I suppose, is:

How soon legally can I take early redundancy? I know employer has to agree, and they may not, but as I'm on sick pay I could really do with the redundancy pay sooner rather than later! Is it a minimum of the 45 days consultation period or is it more?

Work have said they would look to redeploy within the group where possible. I currently work adjusted hrs around childcare - would this be something that would have to be considered or would it be a case of no, 9-5 if you turn it down then no payment?

In addition to the above, does the potential new job (no idea if there is one yet) being at a new site make it different enough that I would still be able to get redundancy if I turned it down?

Are there any things that I should be aware of that I may not be (if that makes sense?!)

Worked at company for 9 years if that makes any difference. Statutory notices apply, no difference in contract I don't think.

Thanks Smile

If the company is going to make you redundant, they have to put everything in writing to you eg last date, redundancy payment, contacts for reference etc. Have you received this ?

Thanks, no I've not had that yet, officially we are 'at risk of redundancy' and are beginning the consultation period. However the situation is that only an idiot would think we aren't going to close down. Company have estimated a closure date of mid July. Realistically I just want to get out ASAP and put it all behind me. I'm not going to be well enough to return before the closure, and even if I did it would be a phased return, so tbh I would think they'd rather I go too.
What I really want to know is how soon can i go and still get the redundancy payment?
I'm aware that sounds grabby but they've put me through absolute hell and a mental breakdown, I need the money to give me time to get well before starting another job.
