Starting up as a freelance hairdresser

Hi,
I'm a single parent of a 3yo, and am looking to start up as a mobile/freelance hairdresser.
I currently work part time in a salon, but ideally would like to be fully self employed by August/September.
I currently get wtc and ctc and some hb, will they move me on to universal credit? And how do I tell them my income as it obviously won't be the same each week?
I have sorted out public liability insurance, and I know I will need to register with HMRC, but is there anything else I need to do, to start as a sole trader?
Will I need a separate business bank account?
Is there any apps to make banking/tax easier?
Does anyone have any advice/tips for me?

I dont have a business account, I just opened a savings account from ny normal current account bank, and use that purely for business. Business accounts cost money and this doesnt. For tax credits you just tell them an amount you think you will earn for the first yea, they would accept £5000 as a reasonable amount to begin with and from then on you will have a definite amount on your tax return.
Yes register with HMRC witha name for your business. I would open a Facebook business page where you can post before and afters of your work.
A cheap diy website, I use 123reg and its like a tenner a year or something. You get the domain name with that too.
