HCPC registration and maternity leave

Not sure where to post this. I can't seem to find any guidance on their website or that of the universities. If I am on a PTP course leading to HCPC registration, is there a time limit on how long you have to do the course? I'm just wondering if taking time out on maternity leave would affect my ability to register.

I'm registered with the HCPC as a social worker. As far as I'm aware you only register once qualified in one of the professions currently under the HCPC umbrella, I don't think it matters to them how long it took you to qualify.

They are just a registration body rather than anything to do with assessing or awarding qualifications.

Thanks @hatgirl you're right in that you only register once qualified. I just know I mentioned on here about TTC whilst at university and somebody mentioned to check if I'd still be able to register if I took time out during the degree. It just worried me a bit and I don't feel I can ask anyone irl.

If you are completing a chartership there can be time constraints, I know when I did mine I was only allowed a max of 1 year out for mat leave, this was "strongly recommended" by my supervisors.

You should ask your college/university, as they have the period of registrar allowed by the HCPC & professional body. For example, I know that Speech & Language Therapists are allowed 7 years (the UG course in Scotland is 4 years) - this is HCPC/RCSLT limits, and are what the University course is validated upon.
So - in short, your university Registry will be able to tell you.
