What flexible jobs are there? Stuck.

When my daughter goes to schooI with her older sister I really want to get a job but I'm worried because I have no partner or family who could have them in the term time off and school holidays.
I was a teacher before but I really do not want to work in a school anymore. I want to do something not to do with school. I worried I won't have any money left after paying childcare especially in 6 weeks hols!

A friend of mine works from making her own stuff but I am not that good at stuff like that
Any suggestions?

I won't even begin to pretend I know loads about this - but have you looked into teaching remotely? Lots opportunities out there for teaching students from other countries.

Do you have a subject? I saw a great flexible working job aimed at teachers with maths qualifications to write exam papers. I'll try to track it down!

Freelance Quiz Content Developer - Remote - Indeed.co.uk

Not quite the job I was looking for - but would something like this maybe be suitable?

Sorry OP - but tired and didn't see you wanted something non-school related.

How much do you think you need to bring in per month?

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 16/12/2018 21:53

I’m a childminder- sounds like that might suit you?

How about marking? Pearson have some jobs via Mumsnet jobs where you need to be a teacher - depends what sort of teacher you were I guess

I clean summer holidays are quite slack so minimum childcare

Civil service? Quite a few roles allow for term time working

They won’t specifically say term time but there’s usually a recruiter’s contact in the job advert. I know of people in the DWP, Home Office, MoD and HMRC who have joined recently and work term time only. 6 people in my office do

If the job role says flexible working/job share/part time working- it’s definitrly worth asking about term time only. It may be that you have to pass your probation first (usually 6 months) then request term time working. Or some may allow it from the beginning. I work in a customer facing role and it hasn’t been an issue when others are term time only
