I'm due to have my second child in March and will be taking a years maternity. I'm not sure if it's worth me returning to work due to childcare costs. Does anyone work from home? What do they do? My background is client management, secretarial, office management and of course admin support. Be great to find a part time job 8-12 hours a week from home. Thanks.

I do Leapforce/Appen averaging 7 hours a week, and pick up a few bits on people per hour. Nothing fancy - just data entry and research jobs. Earns me about £500-600 a month without too much effort.

Wow this sounds interesting, how would you get involved with a such an organisation?

Leapforce/Appen @Nothing7 ?

I'd do lots of research before you apply (don't take my word as a random stranger on the internet!) The Money Shed forum is a fabulous resource for this, and if you have a google you'll be able to find quite a few reviews.

You sign up to be a Leapforce agent - you may or may not be accepted. It's a crowdsourcing platform, and projects vary. So you may end up with a project you can only work one hour a week on, up to unlimited hours. They aren't indefinite roles, your contract can be ended whenever the organisation finishes the project, or you can sometimes only work a set period of time on a project. If you're accepted into a project, there may be exams you need to pass, there are quality audits and reviews - it's much like a normal job in that sense. You'll be expected to sign a non disclosure, which is why you may struggle to find specific project information online. Sometimes projects are available to apply for, other times not. I really wouldn't depend on it as a reliable source of income, but it's a great side gig.

The main 'two' you can be apply for are web search evaluation, as advertised rating. Search evaluation has more hours than other projects.

I hope that gives you a bit more information.

And check out the Leapforce website too obviously for job listings.
