I'm in quite a senior role and work has really messed up. Long story short they've discriminated against me (I am newly on maternity leave), and have lost out on an opportunity because they mis managed something and I couldn't then take it up as I was on maternity leave. Work are really apologetic and I am talking to the department head. The issue relates to the fact that he future of my role is uncertain and I missed out on another opportunity . Two questions - how far would you push it - it's had a huge impact on my may leave but I want to stay at the company. Second, it's my bosses boss who messed up. I know him but not well and I feel really aggrieved at him - and haven't had an explanation (or any discussion with him). I don't think it's maliciousness just stupidity and poor organisation, but I feel like I need to speak to him before I agree anything as I need to understand how this happened if he will be in my management line going forward.
