I, personally, would type it and address it formally because it's a formal application.

Personally, I would write it as though you were applying for a new job, which technically you are doing regardless of it being in the same place. I think it shows a professional attitude.

I would type a covering letter saying something like

Dear Mrs/Mr X

Then what you want to say.......

Yours sincerely

JJ

Hope this helps!

Right dilemma is i had to go into the school and not sure if they have a disk drive so i can print it off.

What do you think i should put in it.? Am so crap at this.

I see nothing wrong with handwriting the covering letter - as long as your handwriting is reasonable!

I assume your CV is typed, and to me the covering letter should just be adding a more personal touch.

I guarantee you will not get or not get job based on whether letter is typed or written, espec since they already know you.

Make the most of that and be sure to mention relevent skills you have already demonstrated in your current role.

good luck!

I would type, but I have embarrassingly appalling handwriting.

Last time I interviewed people for a teaching post, we were quite shocked that a couple of the letters were handwritten to be honest; we assumed that everybody types things nowadays and those who didn't looked a little old-fashioned. Sorry.

Could you email it to yourself and then print it from the email when you get to school?

And I agree that you should definitely keep it formal, even though you know the person.

Good luck!

I wouldn't hand write it - agree with the person who said that you have to treat this as professionally as if you were just joining the organisation.
