Applying for a lower band in NHS

Hi
I’m planning to take on a new role as band 6 nurse (current minimum band 6 as per new agenda for change salary) in January in a different trust from the one I work now. I’ve been band 5 for 4 years now and progressed in increments. My new manager is tough with rota and annual leave and it’s hard for me with a 2 year old under my belt. I still want to give it a try and am planning to go back to band 5 if I cannot carry on with the new job. However I am wondering what my salary will be if I go back as band 5 after being a band 6. The top of band 5 salary is 29500 per year but my band 6 is 1.5k less than this. I know once you are on certain pay scale, it won’t go down as long as appraisal is done successfully however, considering lowering the grade, going back to my old trust, will they keep my new salary as it’s still a band 5 ?
My current band 5 salary 24900
My new band 6 one 28000
Band 5 top point 29000
So if I become band 5 again, will they still give me 28000 as it is still a band 5 salary although grade goes down?
Ps I have nurses in my current trust who came on top of the scale straight away with less than one year experience from abroad.

Please advice. Thanks

The new pay bands that came in this year ensure that no lower band goes above the bottom of the higher band so your pay bands aren't right. I'll find the link but it's on nhs employers.

Nope, ignore me. That must have been one of the lies they told us before actually announcing the numbers.

M0therofdragons that will be the case by 20/21 as it will be done incrementally over three years. Pay scales over three years are on this link nursingnotes.co.uk/nhs-agenda-change-pay-scales-2018-2019/

Hi, if you check any nhs trust, the current band 5 top salary is 29500 and some of the nurses already receive that being on the top band 5 pay. However the starting salary for band 6 is 28050
That’s why I asked the question in the first place. If I once reached 28050 as a band 6, even if I go back to band 5, I was wondering if I still receive 28050 as a band 5 as your salary shouldn’t go down
