Should I switch jobs before I take out mortgage or hold out until completion?

Hi

I really need some advice here. Me and my fiancé are just about to begin the Help to Buy process, but I am in two minds about what to do regarding my job.
I am extremely unhappy in my job, and I have been wanting to leave for some time now, and I feel like I am finally at breaking point. But, a big concern for me is, will me leaving now, just as we are about to begin the entire Help to Buy mortgage application have a big affect on it? Should I do it now before things get fully underway, or do I try and stick it out until completion?
Bearing in mind that completion is set for March - April 2019?

Any advice would be much appreciated, as we are first time buyers and haven't gone through a mortgage application before.

Thanks!!!

Potentially. I couldn't get a mortgage until i had been at my employer for 3 months.

I'd wait until completion

You won’t be able to get a mortgage whilst you’re in a probation period.

Do you have the somewhere to go, job wise? And would that have a probationary period?

You'll need 3 months worth of payslips and a mortgage company won't offer a mortgage if you're in your probation period.

Personally I would brush up my CV now and keep my eyes peeled and start making applications in January/February. Many companies don't recruit in December anyway. By the time you've been through the recruitment process and worked your notice then I imagine you'd be looking at an April/May start date in any new role.

I was 4 months into a job when we applied for a mortgage. They didn’t ask about a probation period and I was honest about only having been there 4 months.

I then changed jobs before it was complete but they never asked me to confirm.
