Stupid Question - Term Time Job

I've been offered an interview for a position that is term time, very excited. Anyway I was just re-reading the job advert and it say " term time (36 weeks) + five holiday working weeks,"

Silly question but this means 41 weeks then doesn't it? They want you to work an extra 5 weeks when the school is closed. I'm sure this isn't unusual but probably means its out for me (although I will still attend interview) due to childcare.

I work term time, which for me is 39 weeks, so this seems to be an extra week only that they're asking you to work. Is it at a private school where terms are shorter?

I should have said, an extra two weeks! Our sixth form support staff work term time + 2.

Most state schools/preschools do 39 weeks so you would only need to fund childcare fir 2 weeks. Depending on age there may be a holiday scheme at a private school which if was where you were working might be subsidised. You need to view the cost as spread across earnings for the whole year , not just those few weeks.

Thanks! It's a private school and I didn't know state school is 39 weeks so that would be fine then. Only have 1 child who is 2 at the moment but thought it would be good for the future. Although the pay is almost half the hourly rate of what I can get elsewhere. I'll go along and see what I think.
