...what to say/not say and how to word it.
I basically just want a way to earn money without leaving my dd2 (nearly 2).
So, we could help look after children, walk dogs, do light gardening...what else?

Housework - some people let you take your child with you.

Ironing - you can do it in your own home. Though I've always found ironing and small children very incompatible and hire someone to help out while I keep my daughter away.

What are your skills/qualifications?

rebelmum1 · 14/06/2007 14:46

Well you sound just like what I'm looking for, what you're offering is ideal. The problem is how you get to charge and what the taxman says. Ideally you could start straight away cash in hand

TooTicky · 14/06/2007 15:20

Ooh, rebelmum, where are you?

north yorkshire?

TooTicky · 14/06/2007 16:27

Oh. We're in Wiltshire

waves Hello - twocats here- trying out a new more extrovert name to see if I like it. Jury's out so far.

I think the petsitting idea is a grand one - esp if you are known round the village. Advertise at the local vets - that's how I always used to get mine when I was in London.

But - and this might be serious - we/I may be looking for some low-key childcare in Sept (dp and I both work from home so it's more someone to keep dd out of my hair for a few mornings a week, and, wait for this, we're moving to Frome, so not a million miles away either...Hmmm [strokes chin thoughtfully]

TooTicky · 14/06/2007 16:48

Ooh, twocats, really? Oh, that would be IDEAL. Let me know what transpires...
Hey, I still have a bag of stuff for you. I weeded out the below 6 months things as I thought they'd probably be irrelevant now, but the rest awaits you...How is dd?

Oh, and I think your feline name is more memorable - and nicely descriptive

Well we haven't exchanged yet, but they want to be in their new house by Sept 1st, so I'm hoping it won't all stall in some horrible property quagmire! But yes, it could well work out rather nicely.

We're just fine thankyou - dd is growing at a vast rate and getting more delightful by the day. Let me know what you're up to, and perhaps you can meet her! And me, of course.

And yes, I think I will probably go back to twocats, it's just that it seemed to be making me a bit demure, in a way that I definitely am not in real life.

ps. Have you thought about selling stuff on Ebay? There are all sorts of good charity shops and car boots round you, so if there is something you know about, you could pick it up cheap and sell for more. I only say this because I got a Baby Dior babygro (at my absolute favourite charity shop in Wells which is packed full of lovely things) for 49p an I'm hoping that might make a bit on t'Bay,

TooTicky · 14/06/2007 22:26

Hope your move goes well.
I do occasionally pick things up secondhand just to sell but ebay can be unpredictable - mainly because there is So Much stuff on there - more sellers than buyers it seems sometimes. Can't afford to gamble much atm.
Would love to meet you and dd. So would my ds2 actually as he adores babies and was most disappointed that we didn't meet up the day we went to Nunney.
