Is now a good time to start a new job

Due to go back after maternity in August. DD will be almost a year but I've been offered a new job. Slightly closer to home, better salary, same hours but more responsibility. Not sure whether it's the right time to start afresh or keep the easy job and adjust to being a working mum slowly. Moving will be good for my career and it will be an easier commute. I currently spend up to 1hr 40 mins getting to work wheras it would be about 1hr 10mins. I am bored in my current job but is this enough to move? Ahh, the questions. I'd appreciate some words of wisdom

I would move, you'd be saving an hour a day in commuting time, that's all I would need to hear , I'm assuming you have one child and aren't planning another immediately (and have to think of maternity packages ?), if so working with one child is quite easy whilst they are in full time nursery/cm/nanny, i'd go for it.

Thanks Hideehi. The shorter commute is certainly the most attractive feature right now and you're right I only have the one at the mo. I would like another but would probably wait a year anyway. Does it seem a bit cheeky taking a job with the aim of getting pregnant 9-12 months later?

No not cheeky, i mean i would keep it under your hat but i've taken jobs knowing i was off to Australia in 12 weeks time.

i agree.
sounds like a good move to me....more money, less travelling, more stimulation.
good luck!
