Will writing business and Law Society question....

Just some advice really ( have also posted in the new business section) - I’m a qualified solicitor and am about to start a will writing business (Willis and trusts were not my specialism before). I will be backed via a will writing company for insurance etc. I am currently just on the Law Society roll (have been non-practising for about 2 years) but am concerned about the grey area of potentially being seen to hold myself out as a solicitor and thereby triggering needing a practising certificate. Would I be better to simply remove myself from the the roll and not even refer to it ?.... I have no intention of going back into a roll requiring my former qualification..... advice ?

There are lots of things to think about when it comes to wills. Are you independent or not? Remember that even small mistakes will render a will invalid completely.
Are you qualified?? Do you have a website or not?? Seek advice before starting up your business. Make sure that you know what you are doing. Act professionally. Listen to your clients. Offer them a list of services.

Contact the SRA. They will advise on how not to hold your self out as practicing

On the SRA website there is a list of titles you must not use or you will fall foul of holding out provisions and a list of titles you can use.
