Sick pay / maternity

Hi there to cut a long story short I suffered an early miscarriage last month and was off for two weeks I'm only part time so I self certed the first weekend and got a docs letter / sick line for the second weekend I was due in ... fast forward to this months pay and Iv had company sick pay off set minus £23? I don't understand my pay slip and I'm definitely down money, ... our policy is apparently the first three days are taken unpaid but as my contract is only one day a week how does this work for me? I'm also on the wrong tax code since I started in December which is apparently being resolved and I'm missing 10 hours of over time I done a few weeks ago too. Who do I go to here ? My manager has just left for Maternity leave

Do you have an HR department?

If you've had two days off that's your first two unpaid surely?

Surely just speak to HR/Payroll? Ask your manager if they submitted correct rotas/hours for when you did your overtime

Why have you been on the wrong tax code for so long? Why haven't you rung HMRC.

Depends on company policy wording, is it 3 working days unpaid or 3 days of absence? Surely it goes both ways, if you were sick for 7 days, it should only count as 1 day for you as you only work 1 day, so maybe the 3 days unpaid is 3 worked days for you, so you've had 2 off and are not entitped to any pay for those day?

I never used to get sick pay in my last job

SSP is based on a 7 day week and not payable for the first 3 days. Doesn’t matter whether you work one or 7 days a week.
