any thoughts? i'm currently doing 15 hrs p/w in a shop, but am not v happy in doing it.

ideally i'd like £200 p/m really working p/t from home (is the key thing) DH is away sometimes quite a bit so have to be home for DH.
I already do avon so wouldn't mind doing something similar althou there's a local mini iq rep that I know of, and possibly osborne books as well.

really we don't ahve the space for loads of stock either.

Hiya

I sell Usborne books

I have an advert in the jobs section titled "work from Home selling childrens books....."

There is loads of info on there

or you can e mail me at

angndamienatparsons237.freeserve.co.uk

It depends how you sell whether you need plenty of stock or not

If you plan to do fairs, toddler groups etc then more stock the better

but if you do sponsored reads in schools and pre schools, you don't need much stock

Hope that helps

Have you thought about becoming a Phoenix Trader instead? Its something that can be so easily done around children. I do it and have signed up several Mums in just your situation. It has great potential. Check out their website on phoenix-trading.co.uk. If you want someone to sponsor you I'd be happy to or you may find someone in your area can.

here's a great website

Lots of useful info listed....

If you're interested in Funky mamas event management would be happy to talk it through with you !!!

Also have details on how you can earn your £200 per month....

meto - From the Mini IQ point of view (you mentioned it in your original post) having someone else nearby needn't be a negative thing actually. I run a team of Mini IQ ladies and they all live within 2mins - 30 mins drive from my house which is fab for getting to team meetings and enjoying the social side of being in a team as well as working.
We often lend each other catalogues/stock for parties/book racks for events and so forth which wouldn't be as easy if everyone was spaced out. There's plenty of business out there for us all as at the moment there's only about 800 active associates in the UK which is very few compared to something like the 10,000 that many other direct sales/party plan companies have!

We tend to run parties based on networks of mums, ie 1 party can lead you to 2 new hostesses and each of those can lead to 2 more and so on... it's more about the people and where they live than territories.

If you'd like to see Mini IQ on a bigger scale do get in touch and come along to the Autumn/Winter Launch in August for free as a guest on my table! I can then put you in touch with someone who runs a team in your area to find out a bit more - doens't hurt to get all the facts before you decide!

No one's going to do a hard sell on you, if you think Mini IQ isn't for you that's fine at least you'll know to consider something else!

Do email me if you'd like more info (see my profile or contact me through the little envelope!)

I would definitely recommend the website that Boobgonesouth suggested - that where I found out more about Truly Madly Baby (which is what I have started doing) whilst TMB may or not be right for you, there is a comprehensive list of all the options of what you can do. At a fair that I was at recently there was someone from Phoenix and that seemed like a really good thing to do aswell.

Good luck ion whatever you decide to do.

Karencooks - stop it - you must pay MN for a business ad.

If anyone mentions Herbalife as a possibility, don't pay any attention!

If you're familiar with the whole network marketing principle, you may like to look into Utility Warehouse. It works really well because everyone you know uses the services, the Which? magazine has recommended their services as 'Best Buy' in the last few months, there is no stock to hold...

I've been doing it for a while and it's a brilliant way of making some extra cash without missing out on time with the kids.

It's completely flexible and really nice because it's all about saving people money.

Send me a message via the link above if you'd like to find out more.
