I had to check the spelling of "Syllable"

My deputy has gone sick for 2 weeks - she is so poorly

I need to sort out the SSP she is entitled to

How??

I am a bit thick btw - so don't just direct me to a website

TIA
KMc

to qualify for SSP you must be

  1. Sick for 4 or more days in a row (including weekends and bank holidays)
  2. Earn, before tax and National Insurance an average of £87.00 (the lower earnings limit for NI conts) a week. (averaged over the 8wks before the sickness began)

SSP is paid from day 4, for a maximum of 28 weeks You need to provide a sick note from your doctor after the first 7 days.

I know you said no websites, but the HRMC site is actually really helpful, or contact the HMRC Employers Helpline on 0845 7 143 143

Actually I started looking on the IR CD ROM & it makes lots of sense (which surprised the life out of me)

Now my deputy wil be about £200 down on the month

I don't pay Sick pay (As I'm mean & nasty)

But is there anything I could do to make things easier for her
