Working and housing benefits

Im a single mum to a 6 yo. I’m currently working 12 hours a week. I do housekeeping. I want to change to 16 hours a week and do caring, I have been offered the job. I currently get full housing benefit, council tax reduction and child tax credits.
I’m worried I will lose a lot of housing benefit if I take on the 16 hours? I am aware I will be entitled to working tax credits.
Has anyone been in a similar situation when working 16 hours and how much housing benefit you were still allowed? I’m worried if it’s worth it or not.
I done the benefits entitlement form too and it says I would only be entitled less than 50 pound a week. I currently get over double that.
Hope someone can help :/

Thanks x

OP only you can do the benefits calculator to get your accurate entitlement because you have to enter all your current financial and domestic circumstances. On the gov.uk website they recommend 3 calculators you can use.

If you've entered all your info and the answer is that you will be entitled to less than £50 a week, then nobody will be able to change that answer.

Have you seen on the gov.uk website :-
www.gov.uk/housing-benefit/further-information

Some benefits stop if you go back to work, work more hours or earn more money

If this happens, you could get an extra 4 weeks of Housing Benefit to help you pay your rent. This is called Extended Payment of Housing Benefit. If you’re eligible your council will contact you. You must have received certain benefits continuously for at least 26 weeks right up to the time when you went back work.
