Lloyd’s job interview

Hello all,
I don’t know if someone here can help with this. I went to an interview last week at Lloyd’s bank. I got an email after applying and having my online test done to come for an interview and bring my ID, proof of address etc. But I was a bit surprised that they never asked me for these documents after the interview. I am thinking maybe the lady who interviewed (the branch manager) as made up her mind that she is not employing me or am I just paranoid. Come to think of it, I am from an ethnic minority background and I have never seen any ethnic minority employees at the Lloyd’s banks in Colchester.

The manager said I should hear from her this week and still waiting.

Doesn't necessarily mean you haven't got it. It will be a standard policy from HR to ask you to bring all that stuff - but it's up to the manager whether they decide to ask for it at interview. I took a whole heap of paperwork to my last interview, noone asked to see it - but I got the job and just had to take all the paperwork in to HR before my first day. Good luck!

Same as @chocolateworshipper when I got my job at RBS- I was interviewed at what would become my place of work, but once they told me I’d got the job I needed to bring my documents to the HR team at head office.

Most larger businesses will have HR or the recruitment team handle the compliance of on boarding new staff as local manage tend to cock it up so much (speaking from experience anyway)

So you are being racist by assuming they don't want you because they didn't ask to see your id?

@ babsaclover - I am not saying they are racist because they did not ask for ID. It was just what I only just noticed last week after several years of visiting my local branches. I didn’t notice the non diversity before because I see people not the colour of their skin but I guess the diversity issue came to mind because I was actually looking to work there. I posted it here - perhaps someone who’s worked at Lloyd’s might be able to shed light on the issue - it might be the norm for Lloyd’s - who knows? Can one ever trust these companies? Uh

You assumed you haven't got the job and then linked it to the fact that there are no ethnic minorities in your branch. Why connect the two if you are not seeing people's skin colour?

Totally agree with @dinosaurkisses - it'll be standard practice within the bank to ask applicants to bring those documents to the interview. However, not all recruiting managers will remember / think it's important to ask to see them on the day. If I were you I'd try not to read too much into it at all.
