Brand New Nursery opening - Should we use it

NuNu have just opened a new nursery here (Market Harborough) and we are considering moving DD to it.

DD is 1 in Sep, and is just starting at the same nursery that DS (nearly 4) goes to. She has not been there long enough to settle yet, so a move would hopefully not be too disruptive.

We visited the new NuNu nursery and all is very pleasant - but then it would be as there are no kids there yet.

The place 'felt' nice, but it is so hard to judge without kids. No Ofsted yet either of course.

The www reveals very little about NuNu - Does anyone here have any experience of them ?
Has anyone also had any experience of using a brand new nursery?
Thanks

lots of nursery questions on MN tonight (???)
surely not the BBC1 production team generating more controversy?
...apologies...
(oh I am so cynical!)

why do you want to move your dd?
what's wrong with where she is?
I would imagine every new nursey needs a 'bedding in'period.. (personally I wouldn't want my kids to be the experiments)

I completely agree with Unicorn - wouldn't want a new nursery "practicing" on my children. Plus with no ofsted and nobody to recommend this place to you you'd be taking a chance in my opinion. Not sure about your reasons for moving them. Are your children not happy where they are ?

hope this isn't an attempt at an advert.
(apologies again if I am very wrong)

No unicorn, not an advert.

Why do we want to move...
Geography - the new one is easier to get to.
Changes at old one - One of the things we liked at the old nursery was easy access from baby room to an outside decked area. Baby room has moved so no outside access now.
DS has been at old nursery for 3yrs now and is very happy - We don't intend moving him as we feel the change would be too disruptive. During his progression through the old nursery we have been much happier with some staff than others.

DD has not really started for real at the old nursery yet, so settling in has not really happened yet therefore moving NOW is a much better option than wait and see (unfortunately!)

We are also a bit wary of the bedding in period - The manager has worked with NuNu for some time, hence the question about other NuNu experience.

DS went to a new nursery, which is part of an established chain. The manager and several staff transferred over from another nursery in the chain, so I was happy that working practices were followed. It was a great choice - in the first few months there were fewer children there, which meant that there was an almost 1:1 staff ratio. The toys, furniture and equipment were brand new. The staff were really keen and there was a good atmosphere. DS is still there over 2 years later. I haven't heard of NuNu, however.
