... do any of your clients expect you to account for your hours?

A client I have been working for for over a year for 2 days per month has now asked me to detail the hours I've spent on my invoices.

While I can do this (and have others for whom I work on a time-charged basis so I can use a time-tracker) I think it goes against the spirit of the retainer.

It's not as if I do nothing either - I hear from this client at least 3 x a week, and always respond the same day.

Is it do do with IR35? Are you working through a limited company?

That doesn't stop IR35, you can be in IR35 for 1 client and not for another. I wonder if they have done the assessment and are concerned.

One of my clients requires days broken down into tenths , that contract had an IR35 investigation.
