Hi all,

First time poster - be kind

Am currently 21 weeks pregnant and was "made redundant" a couple of weeks ago. I'm hugely contesting this.

I've followed ACAS' advice and sent the employer the initial dispute letter, had a (frankly ridiculous and juvenile response) therefore now I want to get Solicitors involved.

I've contacted and discussed my case with 2 separate solicitors now and despite them confirming yes I do have a case, have heard nothing from either of them in about a week despite first instructing one and then, when no contact, the other.

Is anyone able to recommend a really really lethal solicitor who will deal with employment law/tribunals? I'm happy to either try No Win No Fee or pay a fee as long as they're worth it!

TIA all x

If you say what area you are in (and probably put that in the thread title) people might be able to suggest someone suitable to help you. Don't panic though, if this only happened a fortnight ago you still have plenty of time.

Have you appealed?

You’ll need to go through ACAS early conciliation first if you are possibly going to make a claim to the ET so do that just now.

I've sent my initial appeal and they've responded but honestly I just don't want the stress of dealing with it whilst pregnant so was going to instruct a solicitor. Sounds like I should give ACAS another call perhaps....

I'm based in Nottingham x

You need to contact ACAS before you can make a claim. You don’t need to engage with your employer you can just notify ACAS and ask for the early conciliation certificate to be issued. You can’t make a claim without doing that.
