Is this really classed as "working"?

I won't name any names, but there's a YouTube vlogger who I watched regularly and she states that her little boy goes nursery at 3 because she and her partner both work. But whenever she blogs, it's either her visiting her grandparent, going shopping, seeing her friend or cleaning the house? She does work but from home doing meal plans! However it doesn't seem like it takes her all day to do! I've bought a meal plan from her before and honestly it could've easily been done in less than half an hour... the recipe is already saved ready to be uploaded all she had to do was just write down for example, "sausage casserole"! Do they count youtube hours in alongside the hours spend on doing the meal plans as well?

Who are "they"?, that count the hours

Yes, of course they do. People go to work in offices and spend 40 paid hours a week doing marketing for people- that's their job. She's just doing her own marketing/ PR.

HMRC.

HMRC won't be bothered how many hours she works unless she's claiming tax credits, and even then they're only bothered that her earnings equal the minimum wage x the hours she says she works.

HMRC regard ALL time spent in relation to the business as "working". Not just the productive/chargeable time, it also rightly includes marketing, administration, preparation, training, etc.
