Can anyone tell me how my final salary should be worked out pls?

My salary is £9250 per year. I work Tuesday and Thursday, 7 hours per day.
My leave date was 18th May and I’m paid on the 29th of the month.

I think it should be calculated as follows:

£88.94 (daily rate £9250/52/2)
X 6 days in May I worked
———
£533.64

I have been paid ‘notional salary’of £498.08.

Who is correct?

Thanks

What were you paid for April? The end of the tax year is 31 March so this might be an HRMC query. Your HR should be able to help you.

Were there any deductions on your payslip?

Although you are paid on the 29th what is the pay period this covers?

Eg I am paid 23rd of the month but that pay covers 1st-31st of that month.

9250 divided by 12 = £770.83 per month

Divide by the number of working days in May (9/10 depending on your contract)

X 6 (days actually worked)

I get less so did you have holiday owing too?

ChessieFL · 02/06/2018 18:59

9250/12 = 770.83

770.83/31 = 24.87

24.87 *18 = 447.58

with 31 being the actual number of days in May and 18 being the number of days you were under contract. Obviously this is slightly less than you’ve been paid but this could be because your official termination date was a couple of days later, or as a pp said you may have been owed holiday.

No-one on here can tell you for sure because there are different ways a part month payment can be calculated so it will depend on the method used by your employer. Ask them to clarify how they have done it.

I work closely with our payroll bureau and they always calculate leavers' salaries based on the monthly salary minus the days NOT worked that month
