Hi I am a UK animator and I am trying to set up my own channel for kids. It is totally safe and adorably cute.
I would really love to hear what parents of young children think of this content.

Thank you!

have her dance moves been based in anyone in particular?

and call me sexist Mcsexist pants... but did a man chereograph it?

DickTERFin · 29/05/2018 17:56

Oh OP, have a care.

That voice is not listenable to, on repeat for an hour. Please don't do that to parents!

Lower it by at least an octave.

And it's too sexual. Bunnies (unlike other woodland folk) are all to often represented as the "sluts" of the wood (See PlayBunny's etc) so the hot-pants and booty-bopping are a bad choice.

No and no. But thanks for asking.

Shes been hired to dance for Peter rabbits stag do

Grin

The gold sequinned hot pants are totally inappropriate.

My 7yo (admittedly older than the target audience I guess) said she didn't like the dancing and told me to turn it off.

jellybean1986 · 29/05/2018 18:01

I'm not keen. The animation itself is fab but I think the squeaky voice is very annoying and with the dancing/ silhouette, it kinda cheapens it.

ColoursOfRain · 29/05/2018 18:16

I mentioned the making her a boy - I suppose I just get fed up of the stereotype of dancing animal = girl.

KlutzyDraconequus · 29/05/2018 18:48

kind of off topic..

but there seems to be a lot of sexism in animation thesesl days. I don't know if it's always been such?

paw patrol.
all boys out on adventures with 2 token girls. only woman in it is some butter with a chicken in her bag.

Thomas the Sausage fest tank engine
is there even a female engine? she's in the credits but rarely in the show

SpongeBob
main characters mostly male

adventure time
stars 2 males

transformers
all males

so on and so on.

girls are relegated to ponies and balloons and dancing about in very few clothes.

we need an adventure cartoon with loads of action and starring a decent female role model..

or just girl bunnies danicing in their pants.

DailyMailFail101 · 29/05/2018 18:52

Great animation but no I wouldn’t let my children watch it, it’s a bit provocative.

SoupDragon · 29/05/2018 18:57

SpongeBob - main characters mostly male

At least the main female character is brave and bolshy though and not some simpering sidekick.

ShirleyPhallus · 29/05/2018 18:59

The rabbit is called Fuff? As in foof?! You are kidding??!

AfterSchoolWorry · 29/05/2018 19:01

Did you rip off the intro to Groove is in the heart!' ????

Shock
Thespringsthething · 29/05/2018 19:07

The dancing silhouette is very James Bond/Goldfinger/woman writing around on screen.

Weird you didn't notice this!

KlutzyDraconequus · 29/05/2018 19:09

SoupDragon

sandy is pretty cool.. but then they balance that out by having Pearl the air headed teenage mall lurker cliche...

SoupDragon · 29/05/2018 19:12

And Mrs Puff the stressed out matronly woman. 🙄

Ashedload · 29/05/2018 19:19

It’s really well animated. The little bunny herself is quite nice - the fur is great! The eyes look a little... off? Not sure if it’s the angle of them but it makes her look menacing at times!
I am also not sure about the outfits which seem a little too tight / revealing. Also the silhouette portions seem a little out of place. I turned the sound right down as it was incredibly annoying BUT kids love that so I’m sure the song itself will be a hit!

fuffbunny · 29/05/2018 19:19

It's Fuff as in Fluff. My little cousin had a toy called Fuff. I always thought it was cute. Foof is not a common term, I had to look it up.

But thanks for alerting me that!

My 4yr old daughter would love it although that bunny looks a bit creepy lol

IlikemyTeahot · 29/05/2018 19:37

I think the bunny is fantastic...so cute!
Yes fuff makes me think of foof and made me question your intentions.
She does seem to have a little sex appeal, I thought I was overthinking that so checked with one of my kids the 9yo thinks she's a bit naughty for dancing like that.

My 9 year old daughters opinion is;
That her shorts are way too short they look like she's in her knickers.
Something about the voice didn't sound quite right (think she detects a hint of a vocoder)
She doesnt think the song has enough energy for toddlers.

I think it would be cute if the bunny did dance alongs with instructions on screen.
you could put her in 80s workout gear lol I'd definitely watch that with my toddler!

TooRight · 29/05/2018 20:45

I haven't watched the video yet but I want to thank people for mentioning Foof. My dd has a Fee sound in her name and we have been calling her Fee Fee Foof and over the past few weeks it has been shortened to just Foof. Like the OP I have just googled it. I think it's best we stop calling her that Blush

marshmy · 30/05/2018 18:30

i agree don't put her on a diet.. i and a quite a lot of other women have figures like fuff, the people saying her thighs and bum are round why is that an issue why can't a cartoon represent what a lot of women look like instead of being skinny all the time?

SoupDragon · 30/05/2018 18:36

She doesn’t need to be skinny, she needs not to have a waist and hips. She’s a rabbit.

Etymology23 · 30/05/2018 18:53

Shorts are too short. Dance moves are awkwardly excessively sexy.

I think it’s because the silhouette is that of a person with bunny features. I can see one wants to humanise rabbits, but actually if you see a rabbit standing on its hind legs, the leg part is very slim, and then their thighs and body kind of merge into one. Obviously this is a cartoon so you may well Want them to be humanised, but given you’ve done that, then humanised them in ways that are viewed as sexual in our culture and that are adult features, and then put the rabbit in clothes that would be regarded as sexualised in our culture, and then got them doing dance moves that I would view as sexualised - the whole thing is very disconcerting.

PandaPieForTea · 30/05/2018 18:56

I found her paws/hands weirdly stumpy looking.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/05/2018 19:04

When parents are on mn bitching about watching her for the millionth time it'll be Fuck or Foof the Bunny.

Her voice is too.... over processed?? I hstethink human singers with that stupid processed sound, Fuff is just as annoying.

If I want Rio watch that kind of dancing I'll put on MTV. Why is toddler bunny silhouetted and wriggling her hot pants clad bottom?

The actual animation is fine, she's cute but I'd expect get to sound cute and dance how toddlers dance, not their Momma's

SleepingStandingUp · 30/05/2018 19:17

I just watched unboxed. The teetering run to the door, the bum wiggle, the mum dress... combined with a cutesy girl giggle. It's just off fuff. Its like she doesn't know if she's 3 or 23, if she wants to entertain the kids our seduce the Daddy.

A dress that isn't cinched in at the waisthouse, shorts more similar to what a toddler would wear, a cut of the top that doesn't suggest breasts and she'd be cute.

She needs lessons off Lily on what to wear and Coco on how to dance.

Flip would have heart failure if Bing beings her home in 15 years
