How often does your typical computer crash?

I got a new computer for my business, spent a fair bit on it, but had to take it back as it was crashing around 3 times a day.

They've replaced it with an identical one and it is crashing once every two days roughly. This is way more than my last one but is it enough for me to be able to return it and seek a refund so I could buy a different brand? Or does anyone know a forum I could ask this on where I might get more answers? I see many posts in this section go unanswered...

I’m no expert but DH is in IT and has various laptops, I have 2 myself.
Our crash maybe once every couple of months at most

That's more in line with my last computer Hoppinggreen but I was wondering if I'd been extremely lucky.

My MacBook Pro and the wife's hasn't crashed since we've had them.

My works Dell running Windows has an occasional wobble. It's never fully blue screened though.

Most computers you buy in PC World and the like are loaded with so much bloatware that it causes issues.

Modern operating systems - even Windows Grin- are very stable nowadays. It's. Or ally crap applications that cause crashes (hence why I like macOS so much. Based on BSD so much less prone to bad apps crashing the OS)

  • Only crappy written applications that should say. Stupid autocorrect (lol computers)

Interesting about the bloatware TheWorldAsh - also good to know my new pc is most likely not normal.

I bought a new laptop from PCWorld last year. Constantly crashing several times per day and was slow. It was a Windows 10 version. I found the "restore to factory" settings and did a full system restore, and it came back as a "clean" windows 8 with just the operating system and drivers, not bloatware, etc., and not only is it now a lot faster, it very rarely crashes - maybe once per month. Very happy with it now! Must have been an older version win 8 machine which they'd shoddily upgraded to win 10.

If you are buying a computer for your business, I would go with Toshiba rather than Dell or HP.
