Admin in an office. 9:30 -2:30. Not exactly rocket science or particularly well paid but it's perfect while the dc are little.

Twerking9to5 · 03/05/2018 17:53

Agh OP I’m wondering the very same thing. I’m a teacher which I thought would be good for when I had kids. Ha! I’m considering doing TA/learning support which would be actual school hours. Would that be an option?

IlPorcupinoNilSodomyEst · 03/05/2018 17:55

School admin, I do term time plus five inset days.

Babyg1995 · 03/05/2018 17:56

Catering assistant 10 till 2 moday till Fri

Horsedogbird · 03/05/2018 17:57

There's things I'd like to do but are just not compatible with having small children.

Office admin 9.30-2.30pm, three days a week. In a child related industry.

thesqueezedlemon · 03/05/2018 18:06

Supermarket. 9.30 - 2.30. 3 days a week and every Sunday.
They've been v flexible. Before the dcs started school I worked evenings. Swapping to school hours a month after my youngest dc started reception.

Now my youngest is in juniors. I am looking forward to finding something new I want to do in a few years time 🤞

I teach. My school (secondary) is next to my DS' primary school and his primary school finish later than us. They go to breakfast club in the morning and after school club a few times a week. I usually manage to do breakfast club/pick ups a few times a week.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 03/05/2018 18:16

I'm a science technician in a secondary school. Term time only but 8.30-4.30. There are part timers as well, though, within school hours.

BethaTheBlubberer · 03/05/2018 19:03

How do you get into a TA type role? Does it require volunteer experience?

Mamabear1475 · 03/05/2018 19:05

Care work. 7am until two as dp takes the kids to school. But I know other carers who work 9-3 To fit around the school run

xyzandabc · 03/05/2018 19:10

School office admin. 20 hours over 3 days term time only, plus 2 weeks in the summer holidays.

I don't work inset days, though my school inset days are not always the same as my kids school.
I do
8-3
8-3
9-3

DH can usually do the school run on my 8am start days. Or they go to breakfast club. I do all pick ups as kids school finishes 10 mins later than me and that just enough time to get here from my school.

recoveringmummy · 03/05/2018 19:28

Pre school assistant, 9-3pm term time only, I am very lucky :-)

Horsedogbird · 03/05/2018 19:31

Mamabear I was interested in care work but they just want you to work shifts and I need it to be set hours but it seems that you maybe have to be doing it for a while before you can do that?

Bookkeeper 930 while 3. There to pick up and drop off but use holiday childcare

HeyMicky · 03/05/2018 19:43

Not quite school hours but 8.30-2, DD goes to breakfast club. I also do one long day a week when DH does pick up. I walked it back from a full time role

HeyMicky · 03/05/2018 19:43

Sorry - meant to say digital marketing.

Mamabear1475 · 03/05/2018 19:45

It depends if you work in a care home or you work in the community. I can't do care homes as most of them wanted 12 hour shifts. But home to home care is a lot more flexible x

piefacedClique · 03/05/2018 19:47

Cover supervisor in a local Comp. Was previously teaching with a 1.5hr commute each way. Taken a while to find my feet but can drop kids off and pick them up from school plus get the holidays.

Groovee · 03/05/2018 19:50

Early Years Practitioner on supply. Some days I do 8-3.40, 8.15-11.45/12.15-3.45. Sometime do 10-2pm. It just depends on what I am needed for.

Horsedogbird · 03/05/2018 20:00

mamabear yeah it is home care I was after

I don't, but DH does. Web app development. He can do a lot at home, when kids around, too.
