Occasional consultancy - do I need insurance

Hi, having not worked for a while I have been offered a couple of days consultancy work through personal recommendation.
I have never done any independent consultancy or been self-employed before so would appreciate a steer on anything to watch out for.
In particular if I need any insurance. I have no plans to do this on anything other than an ad hoc basis so don't want to overcomplicate things - or incur costs which negate the financial plus of a day's work.
Any advice much appreciated!

It depends what sort of consultancy you are doing.

I have professional indemnity insurance just in case I make a mistake which ends up costing my clients £££££. It's not very expensive.

However in 5 years of consultancy I've worked with 1 client who insisted on it, no others seem to have cared. But it's good for peace of mind.
