If a job vacancy is advertised as full time, can you request job share or part time hours?

You can always ask, but be prepared for a no.

My work place advertised for a full time member of staff, accepted a part time person because not very many applicants (under staffed profession in general). Worth a try I'd say :-) Just make sure they wont try to overwork you into a full time role but in part time hours.

It doesn't hurt to ask. It depends how part time you mean, I guess? If it was me interviewing, and a really good person asked to work 4 days a week instead of 5, or 5 days 10-4, I'd definitely consider it. But it depends on the hiring manager and the culture of the organisation and how pro flexible working they are.

I'm currently doing 24 hours but I'm happy to possibly go up to 30 hours. I'm too worried to ask 🙈.

Do I ask (if) when there is a job offer? Or do I mention at interview stage?

If full time is completely out, I think interview stage. I'd be a bit pissed off I think, if someone waited til offer stage.

Thank you!

Internally pretty much all of our jobs are advertised as FT but many will consider PT, I know I am happy to when recruiting. The only roles that really won't consider it is time critical jobs.

Mention it gently at the end of interview.
