Out of interest does anyone use co- working spaces?

Hot desking you mean ?
I do sometimes.
What do you want to know ?

ibicus · 05/04/2018 23:31

Just kinda wondered if people thought they were a good idea and possibly how much you pay for using it if you're willing to say! Some people have just told me about it and it sounds great for the potential future!

Ah, right, we might be talking about different things.

Are you self employed, and considering using a shared office space ?

I work for a large organisation. You can go into any of their buildings and use a desk there. They pay me, not me them ! Grin

I'm not self employed I'm just hoping to be at some point in the future! Just heard of this and looked up ones near me and wondered if anyone else had any knowledge about them. That sounds good @BackforGood!

Like most things, there's pros and cons.

Sorry, I can't help, but maybe it has 'bumped' you off unanswered threads for someone with n answer to come and help you.

The WeWork spaces are amazing, definitely worth a look

I work from a gorgeous little co-working space in North London. Full of other freelancers (I am a copywriter).

Rates vary a lot in this market. I pay £150 a month here and get 20 hours a week hot-desking access. Big desks, comfy chairs, sofas, community library, magazines, two kitchens with free tea/coffee... all in.

Free networking drinks events once a month and independent cafe on site too.

When I worked for a company in a previous life, they hired a co-working space (small team) - it was £400 a month for a desk, no events, boring corporate environment. Don't be ripped off but do look around.

Many places will let you do a free trial day.

Personally, I rather have some peace and quiet while some co-working spaces are full of buzz. It would really depend on your mood
