Photos of your kids at the workplace

What is the point?

We've all got an image in our minds of what our children look like, so isn't it the case that people like showing off their offspring to workmates rather than it being a visual reminder of our status as parents? I refuse to put any tangible momentos of family members on display, even though they're very photogenic so I can't be accused of vanity. Photos should be restricted to home and handbags, not employment.

Does anyone disagree?

Big picture of my DD on my desk. I like to remind myself of the reason I go to work!

Dullandold- the other stuff fair enough, if that's the case. But the thread isn't about that. It's about photographs of children and family on your work desk. If it's just those then I really can't see the issue. Neither can most men in my experience and in way foes it make them Unprofessional not hinder the progress.

Drawing and defacing another person's property at work is definitely unprofessional however.

Eh? My dad always had family photos in his office, as far back as the 80s. It never harmed his career but maybe it would have if he’d been a woman?
