Successful ET. Thank you for your help.

I started an ET against my former employee and got lots of help on here.

They have agreed to settle and although I'm certain it's nowhere near as much as I would have got at an ET, it's an OK amount to bring the issue to a close. Plus, a bird in the hand and all that.

We need to agree a reference which in all liklehood will be dates only which is a bit gutting but I suspose I was niave to think I'd get anything else after all this and at least this way I know what will be said.

But thank you to everyone who helped me and that includes those of you who told me to get a grip! Grin

Thats good to hear. Do you feel able to move on?

So glad for you that you have a resolution. Most importantly that you can put it behind you.

Be comforted that references nowadays aren't what they used to be. They rarely, if ever, amount to a workplace testimonial about your dedicated service and irreplaceable skill set, and are necessarily bland so companies avoid any backlash if they dare to say anything that's perceived negative.

Personally, it's probably best that way - you get the dates of employment confirmed and sell yourself on your own merits with a strong CV and interview.

You could try getting a reference from any friendly managers you got on with, those references are deemed to be personal not sponsored by the company but tell the specifics of the value you added.

All the best!
