Would you work if you didn't have to financially?

Be honest ... would you work if you didn't need to for the money? What else does work bring up your life, aside from money.. or would you stay at home with kids?

Yes, I would and do (but not full time). I was a SAHM when my DC were little and we could afford for me to still be one, but as soon as they started school I went back to work. I love my job and as I work part time I have a good work/life balance.

Yes, because I'm not cut out to be at home all day with a small child.

I would give up work if we had enough money that we could both give it up. I do work even though DH is a high earner because it feels fairer and more secure that way. Plus we'll both be able to take retirement earlier than if I stayed at home. We only have 2 children though and I work school hours so I suppose it's a compromise. If we had 4 children I might feel it was easier for all of us if I stopped for a while but I think I would go back.

I've tried to write this post twice now and answered both "hell, no" and "yes, I think I would". So, I actually have no idea. I think I'd give not working a go for a few years and see if it is as awesome as I imagine it could be or if the abundance of extra time just passed in procrastination, half assed projects and boredom.

Of course not. I don't have anything to prove and am prefect capable of entertaing myself with having someone telling me what to do all day.

My jobs not awful, but there are so many other things I could be doing, seeing and other people I could be spending my time with.
