Expenses tracking

Hi there,

I wonder if anyone can help me?!! I started my own Spanish tutoring business in April whilst still working and since then left my job to focus 100% on the Spanish which I'm loving.

I am getting my first year's accounts ready as we are in the process of selling our house and everything counts!

Question is does anyone have any template they use for tracking expenses as I can't seem to find one?!!

Thanks

x

i just use a spreadsheet, which I fill in every Friday with what I've done the previous week.

I keep all receipts in my purse & cross reference with my company bank account.

I note the date, amount, payee and what it was for, the client & if I have a receipt.

Then when it's time to do the accounts the spreadsheet adds them up automatically.

I use Wave Accounting, a free online service. Takes a bit to set up but wonderful when done

Unfortunately WAVE aren't going to be GDPR compliant when it comes into force in May, so all UK/EU businesses using Wave are going to have to move to a different accounting software (unless Wave change their minds and decide to become GDPR compliant in the meantime). Wave is a Canadian firm and not really interested in the UK/EU market, and unlikely to spend time/money on GDPR compliance when EU/UK customers get it for free.
