pinknfluffy29 · 09/05/2007 08:19

I like pumpkin pie but it reminds me of pumkin patch

funkyfamilies sounds more original

NoodleStroodle · 09/05/2007 09:38

I think of Pumkin Patch too - would leave that one

pinknfluffy29 · 09/05/2007 11:15

right either:

www.marshmellowpie.co.uk

or

www.semolinapilchard.co.uk

beatles influence is obvious!!!!

Semolina pilchard, dripping from a dead dog's eye...

ChocolateFace · 09/05/2007 13:45

Semolina pilchard is very way out, and edgy.
Marshmallow pie is the opposite, very cute.

It depends what thing your aiming for. I'm missing the Beatles link- sorry.

I'm not sure what kind of logo you could have with semolina pilchard

ChocolateFace · 09/05/2007 13:46

Retro Marshmellow?

pinknfluffy29 · 09/05/2007 16:54

semolina pilchard is from i am the walrus - and its:

Yellow matter custard
Dripping from a dead dog's eye
Crabalocker fishwife
Pornographic priestess
Boy, you've been a naughty girl
you let your knickers down

and

Semolina Pilchard
climbing up the Eiffel tower
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man, you should have seen them kicking
Edgar Allen Poe

marshmellow pie is from lucy in the sky

Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers
that grow so incredibly high

i think people are more likely to realise semolina pilchard than marshmellow pie.

Groovy gear/ Groovy get up?
funky fashion
groovy baby!

MummyTL · 09/05/2007 21:59

apologies pink, for getting my beatles references mixed up.

MummyTL · 09/05/2007 22:01

I LOVE goovybaby but unfortunately it's taken, as it groovybabies. groovybabe.co.uk is available, but it isn't Austin Powers!

Astrophe · 09/05/2007 22:11

I'd avoid anything with the words kids/kidz/baby/ etc in the title - there are SO many, and its too easy to get them confused. Also '4' instead of 'for' irritates me, but it might just be me!

I'd go for something catchy and cute like:

www.crocodiletears.co.uk
www.zingzing.co.uk
www.shimmy.co.uk

I'll keep thinking...

Astrophe · 09/05/2007 22:14

oh, I like marshmallowpie.co.uk too!

what about www.jellymice.co.uk

www.freckles.co.uk

Ladymuck · 09/05/2007 22:18

If you are serious about this then tbh this is one aspect of your business that I would get professional input for. Name and logo/image can be critical especially in a crowded marketplace.

But in my unprofessional opinon I like higglepiggle and I wouldn't touch something that had 70s in it with a bargepole.

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 14:46

Heva you got any one to do your logo and website yet? Could they help wiht a name?

I like corcodile tears.

yeahinaminute · 10/05/2007 14:53

www.roundabout.co.uk

Coz what goes round comes round

yeahinaminute · 10/05/2007 14:53

and a loose link to that perrenial 60's / 70's favourite The Magic Roundabout !!

ChocolateFace · 10/05/2007 14:54

That is very, very good.

nannynick · 13/05/2007 22:00

Can't help with a name, but I agree that you should be thinking about marketing. Choose a name that describes the product. Something short is good, say one or two words, possibly 3 words.

Use tools such as Word tracker (Free Keyword Suggestion Tool) to find which words get searched on - The link is seeded with the word 'Clothes' to give you an idea.

Look into if you can use the word Organic - not sure on the rules on that one. Perhaps use a looser term such as Green.

Perhaps things like:
clothesgoinggreen.com
green-clothes.co.uk

nannynick · 13/05/2007 22:02

Oh and also use tools such as Advanced Domain Name search at Free Parking to see which domains are already taken. Just enter two or three words and click Advanced... it will then run through the possibilities, showing which are available and which are not.
