Hi everybody
I am in a very difficult situation.if anyone could help me I would be really great full.
I lost my job yesterday.after working 10 years as a teaching assistant
The reason for losing my job is just under a year ago I had a injury at work which has left me not being able to work.
The reason for my dismissal is because of my bad health an poor attendance.
What I need advise on is, is this an unfair dismissal
I have gone privately to see Docters so I can get better an return to work.i have no choice I have to work.
I was not expecting a dismissal at all
I went to my meeting with a fit for work certificate but they wasn’t interested
I feel like they made up the desition
They didn’t care y I had to take the time off

Am getting advise from the law Center
That shouldn't be a problem with the union right?

So at the meeting op you didn't realise you could be dismissed? I don't work in a school, but in the civil service, but that sounds wrong to me.

I would have thought that you should have been informed that dismissal was being considered so that you had the chance to make representations.

It was always mentioned in my attendance meetings
Bottom of the letter
But because I was planning on coming back to work on my last final meeting I didn't expect the dismissal
I thought if I told them am coming back
It will all be ok.also didn't represent myself
very well as I wasn't expecting a dismissal

I'm am Adviser working for a union. I know that for us any advice sought in a professional capacity (ie not just friends/family) is considered third party.

I wouldn't mention it to the union.
