Working out holiday entitlement

Partyfops · 06/03/2018 21:08

Please can someone help me work out the holiday entitlement for an employment contract?

They will be working the following hours

8.30 -2.30
8.30 - 2.30
8.30 -2.30
8.30 - 4.30

Half an hour break each day so a total of 24 hours.

Part time equivalent of 28 days.

Holiday entitlement in hours would be ....?

Anyone, please?

Thanks

Quite right I don't employ anyone. I work for someone who offers way more than the legal minimum in everything.

But I'm familiar with a few legal minimum businesses and I may have started off a bit harsh since I didn't realise OP was already decided on legal minimum. I apologise.

However, I genuinely believe being offered the legal minimum leaves a bad taste in employees' mouths. And often giving just a little more costs little to nothing but buys you the good will of your employees who are an asset.

Happy employees take the odd work call on a day off. They take one day off when genuinely sick and don't infect the whole team. They don't skive leaving you in the lurch.

Even if you build up to better rights after a probation period it's an incentive.

This might or might not be relevant to OP and an employee who knows them, but it general I think it's better to be aim higher than 'the government made me'.

I work 50-60 hours a week, I don't get any holiday pay or sick pay.

@claireb83 you’re talking nonsense and don’t speak for the majority.

Employees get paid. Not everything should be about incentivising the employees. If you only work for what you can get then yes you will be miserable. I personally love my job and I’d do it for half the money and half the holidays.m
