Just have to survive 2 weeks - help me with my lines

Long story short, I have applied for a new position within my organisation, and been successful. The team I am leaving has recently been restructured. So we were in ‘A’ group and have been moved into ‘B’ group. New position is back in ‘A’ group.
Restructure was marred by political power struggles between the Tier 2 managers of A and B group. B group see themselves as having won, and by leaving them and going back to A group, i am robbing them of a bit of their victory.
I have worked for my organisation for a long time, including stints with B group in the past. The new position was advertised externally, i applied, went through the interview like any other applicant, and was successful. I kept my immediate manager informed (this was all happening during the restructure) throughout, he was and is supportive. I played it by the book.
I start the new position in 2 weeks. We will physically move to B group on Monday and i am dreading it. My team are lovely but i feel i am going into a very hostile environment. Since i accepted the new position B group have questioned EVERY aspect of my work, and have made it very clear that i have done the wrong thing by taking up a position with A group. I am expecting to be micromanaged/told I have handled things wrong. I can make it through as it is only 2 weeks but would love to get some suggested neutral statements to counteract any hostility and help me stay professional.

What hostile comments do you think you will get?

@TERfragetteCity, i am either going to get pulled aside and told how badly i have handled acquiring the new position (there was an almighty delay with paperwork as B group signatures were required and withheld, and the rumour mill got the news out about new position before i could officially announce), and/or I am going t be told that decisions/approach taken on long running projects that i have bought into B group with me are wrong.

I think on the former, I’d run with ‘I know, I was frustrated by the way it played out as well.’

On the latter, smile and shrug? ‘I guess different teams have different approaches. You’ll be looking forward to putting your stamp on this one.’

JassyRadlett · 03/03/2018 11:45

But ugh. That’s office politics of the worst kind.

Ooh @JassyRadlett those are both gold. And yes - dreadful office politics, but i have been v lucky in my career to date and not experienced too much of it.

I have developed strong skills in Not Engaging. That second one has a tiny passive aggressive undercurrent of ‘I don’t really care, I won’t be here anyway’ which I like a little bit too much.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 03/03/2018 15:46

I think the non committal smile is your armour here OP. A couple more suggestions. For the first one, smile and 'yes, that was a little unfortunate' and the second 'that seemed to be the best decision, approach, action, or similar, at the time' Hope it's not as bad as you fear.

I'd be inclined to not second-guess anything or worry about what you think they might say. Don't let them get a toe-hold in playing mind games on you.

...have made it very clear that i have done the wrong thing by taking up a position with A group

See it from their perspective, they would say that wouldn't they, they're hardly going to say what a great career move you've made.

Use any headspace you have to prepare yourself for your new role.

TERFragetteCity · 04/03/2018 10:41

how badly i have handled acquiring the new position

Smile, 'ok, thanks for the info'

I am going t be told that decisions/approach taken on long running projects that i have bought into B group with me are wrong

I cannot take the credit - I saw it on here.

I do use it myself, especially when being mansplained to.

Three days in and, apart from going behind my back to A group and trying to negotiate having me for longer (A group responded that i had to be part of that decision!) B group has been surprisingly ok.
